Final Update
Submitted by mrjpark on Sun, 08/07/2011 - 01:05The episodes and movie are approaching release time, so we're just about all finished up here. We're not going to be continuing this website, so don't be surprised if it goes down in a couple days. If the site goes down before we release, I'll be releasing over on our friends' website at http://www.yonkoufansubs.com, since they were nice enough to agree to that.
I apologize for being so slow, but it is what it is. It was a blast, and I think I can speak for the entire team when I say it was fun subbing One Piece for you guys. Well, most of you guys.
In case I don't have the chance to say this later, sayonara!
Edit: I lied. Well, Ersin lied. The site should be sticking around for a bit longer :P
Short update.
Submitted by mrjpark on Sun, 01/23/2011 - 11:06I'd like to just say that we have promised you guys 416-417 and Strong World. We're not going back on our promise, and these three WILL be released. That said, we've slowed down even more after we officially disbanded for a number of reasons like school, holidays, life, etc. Fansubbing is most likely far from the top of our list of priorities at this point, but I do promise that it IS a priority of some sort.
All three have been QC'd and just need to be encoded. We're going to be releasing 416-417 first because they're quicker encodes than a 2 hour movie. You'll be getting SD/HD for the episodes, and I believe we'll be releasing the movie in AVI, MP4, and MKV. I believe I've already said that last part, but I'll say it again just in case I haven't. At this point, I don't know if we really need to release three versions of it, but whatever.
Hope you guys had fun during the holidays.
Happy New Year!

May 2011 bring you everything 2010 refused to give!
I DID IT!!
Submitted by mrjpark on Sat, 12/25/2010 - 08:54I beat my deadline by 7 minutes! Everything's QC'd, 416-417 and Strong World need to be encoded and then we're done!
Merry Christmas everyone! Stay safe, don't drive drunk, and look forward to some One Piece!

In case anyone was still wondering...
Submitted by mrjpark on Fri, 10/29/2010 - 06:32We're done releasing new episodes. Forever. It looks like the One Piece section of Shinigami-Subs is dead and our joint depended entirely on their translating capabilities. So watch Yibis' releases -- they're honestly great if you can get used to their styling -- instead of waiting on us, if you were one of the 5 people that's actually still waiting on us.
We were going to release Strong World a while ago, but something never got done by S-S, and so we're taking that upon ourselves and we'll be slowly rolling out 2 versions (MKV/MP4) of a 1080 release, 720 release, and 400 (480?) release for the movie. I think. It still needs to be QC'd, so give us some time.
And just to confirm what you guys are thinking, we are dead. Most of us are too old to dedicate time to fansubbing or are in important stages of our lives where we need to focus on school. We will be finishing the Amazon Lily arc as we have it translated, and depending on who sticks around, we MAY fill in the gap up to 435. It is something we want to do, but want and can are two very different things. We're going to pretend as if 462-464 never happened. A couple of us are thinking of staying involved in fansubbing but aren't really sure what we want to do, so we'll see how that goes.

On a more positive note, I just started playing StarCraft 2. I'm still kind of shitty -- I'm a Bronze level Zerg -- but I'm looking for people to play and practice with. Only a few of you will probably see this, so this is a perfect place to ask for your user names and add codes if you wanna play with me :P
Comments gone plus an update.
Submitted by mrjpark on Fri, 10/15/2010 - 10:55Unless you're a typesetter, we're no longer recruiting. I'll do a bigger update later. I'll go so far as to say you can be in the process of learning or just be willing to learn it. But if you're learning typesetting, you'll also need to know how to time. Talk to us through forums or IRC in either of our channels (#nakama-fansubs and #n-f_recruits). What's important is that you are dedicated and will not just disappear as soon as you show up, or in the middle of something.
I'm currently disabling comments on posts as they're getting inundated with spam and there's nothing I can do about it apart from deleting around 30 comments per post a day, something I'm not willing to do.
Meep.

BEWBZ!!
This one's been waiting to be released and we finally got to it. No promises yet on 416-417, but we do want to at least finish off the Amazon Lily arc within a reasonable time. 416 still needs to be TS and 417 isn't far enough in its stages for an update.

We're opening up recruiting.
Submitted by mrjpark on Wed, 09/22/2010 - 03:51We're opening up most positions for recruiting, although most will be back-up roles.
We're looking for experienced typesetters and timers as we're running thin now in those positions.
We're always looking for J-E translators, don't care if you're experienced or not as long as you know the language.
We're always looking for a new QC, but understand that it's not a standalone role. I'm an asshole and I get final say, I'm just looking for people who have a solid grasp of the English language that can spot not only script errors, but timing/audio/video errors. By the way, I don't mean solid as in "I got an A in high school English," but I also don't expect you to have a masters in English. We've been through a couple of these and I honestly don't have high hopes as I'm probably hard to work with, but I'm just throwing it out there.
Also, an experienced AFXer would be great to back up Usoppu.
Anyone who's interested can PM me through a forum account or talk to any of the staff in #n-f_recruits on rizon.net. We may be afk on IRC. If we are, just PM us a way to contact you and it'll be done.
